Software Engineer (C++/Firmware)

Location: Ottawa March Road, Canada; in-person position

Annual base salary: CAD 76,300–122,000

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deliver firmware, microcode, device drivers, embedded Linux/Yocto builds, and upper-level control software.
• Own software and firmware designs across the full product lifecycle, from inception through volume production and product sustainability.
• Develop software for complex multi-processor datacenter architectures using C and C++.
• Support silicon, chip, board, and full-system bring-up, customer trials, field issue resolution, and system validation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering and partner teams, as well as Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience developing software for large-scale x86 and ARM architectures, from low-level firmware to rack management control software.
• Experience with Linux/Yocto, OpenBMC, and/or ZephyrOS, plus driver development and low-level or silicon debugging.
• Hands-on experience with I2C, PMBus, AVSbus, MDIO, PCIe, SPI, USB, and SERDES interfaces.
• Knowledge of Redfish and DMTF standards, including MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM, as well as datacenter networking and NIC architectures.
• Experience with Secure Boot, u-boot, Secure Root of Trust, system-level testing, validation, and automation.
