Senior Production Engineering Tooling Designer (Manufacturing)

Base salary: $102,375–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead tooling design projects from requirements and early concepts through qualification, release, and production support.
• Define functional requirements, technical specifications, business cases, design proposals, and risk assessments.
• Design complex manufacturing tools, fixtures, and jigs that meet safety, ergonomic, regulatory, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using computer-aided design software.
• Lead design reviews and perform tolerance, motion, material, structural, thermal, and performance analysis.
• Resolve advanced tooling issues, implement corrective actions, improve processes, and support investment planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in manufacturing tooling design, production engineering, process development, or manufacturing.
• At least three years of experience leading projects and improvement initiatives.
• Proficiency with 3D design software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or AutoCAD.
• Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, manufacturing processes, finite element analysis, enterprise resource planning, product lifecycle management, and engineering change processes.
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under United States export regulations before beginning work.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor, high-tech, complex assembly, or cleanroom environments.
• Certification in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, project management, Lean, or Six Sigma.
