Generator Technician Master (Industrial Generators)

Location: Shelton, Connecticut, USA; on-site field work with up to 50% travel

What you will do

• Provide on-site and phone troubleshooting, repairs, equipment modifications, installations, and sales support for hirify.global industrial generators.
• Perform emergency, scheduled, and preventive maintenance on generator systems, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday service when directed.
• Read operational manuals, electrical schematics, generator literature, and work orders to complete maintenance and repairs.
• Document completed work in FieldServio and report defective materials, faulty operations, and unusual conditions.
• Support engineering projects, sales initiatives, quality assurance, quality control, and technician scheduling.
• Train and mentor Industrial and MPS technicians, including proper startup techniques, and provide technical support to team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• hirify.global Master Certification or equivalent required.
• At least 8 years of advanced troubleshooting experience with Emergency Power Supply Systems; 10–15 years preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC/DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, connection diagrams, transfer switches, diesel or gaseous engines, and natural gas fuel systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently, make decisions with minimal supervision, communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and provide detailed reports within 24 hours.
• Valid driver's license required; ability to work in manufacturing and variable weather conditions, lift equipment, use required PPE, and potentially obtain a DOT Medical Card.

Nice to have

• Associate's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 10–15 years of advanced Emergency Power Supply Systems troubleshooting experience.
