Process Engineer (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Romulus, Michigan, United States; full-time presence at the specified facility is required.

What you will do

• Apply hirify.global Manufacturing System principles to identify waste, standardize processes, and improve operational efficiency.
• Analyze process flow, PFMEA, cycle times, bottlenecks, uptime, and throughput.
• Manage existing processes and implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.
• Plan and execute automation initiatives to improve manufacturing performance.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing issues and drive continuous improvement in a unionized environment.
• Prepare detailed analyses related to manufacturing processes and projects.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of engineering experience and experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, process optimization, troubleshooting, and PFMEA leadership.
• Experience planning and executing automation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work onsite, overtime, and off shifts as needed; GM immigration sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• 2+ years as a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer.
• Automotive manufacturing experience and understanding of engine component manufacturing.
• Experience executing cobots and applying hirify.global Manufacturing System principles.
