Manufacturing Process Engineer (Electrical Utility Technology)

Location: Fairport, New York, United States. Office and factory environment; safety glasses are required on the factory floor, and overtime may be required.

Salary: $66,900–$124,300 per year.

What you will do

• Investigate, analyze, and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Plan equipment layouts and workflows for safe and efficient use of plant resources.
• Support Kaizen and continuous-improvement activities using standard work, one-piece flow, visual controls, 5S, and variability reduction.
• Develop methods, tooling, test systems, and machine designs that reduce cycle time and improve productivity and quality.
• Plan, research, design, and develop manufacturing-engineering projects.
• Investigate internal and external quality issues through root-cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, or industrial engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• 1–3 years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
• Analytical and statistical problem-solving skills, including familiarity with Minitab, JMP, or similar software.
• Knowledge of process-control methodologies such as DMAIC, Lean, SPC, ISO 9001, MSA, R&R, and PFMEA.
• Experience with database tools, programming for database maintenance and reporting, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Hands-on mechanical ability, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of LabVIEW and SolidWorks.
• Experience integrating automation technology and vision systems.
