Spacecraft ADCS Engineer (GNC)

Location: Remote from an approved U.S. location; Muon is currently registered and able to hire in AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, IA, ID, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, VT, VA, and WA. Access to export-controlled information requires applicable U.S. person status, authorization exemption, or eligibility for export authorization.

Salary: $166,000–$219,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control architectures and algorithms in embedded C++.
• Define requirements for ADCS algorithms, hardware, and related systems across current missions and future mission roadmaps.
• Analyze and simulate mission-specific GNC performance.
• Collaborate on ground-processing algorithms for sensor calibration and an offline geolocation processing pipeline.
• Support anomaly resolution for on-orbit systems, including on-call duties.
• Plan, execute, and validate software- and hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent education, with at least 2–3 years of professional experience; alternatively, several years of hands-on GNC analysis and design experience.
• Professional software development experience in C++.
• Knowledge of control and optimization theory.
• Expertise with numerical programming environments including Python, Julia, or MATLAB.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and implementing spacecraft ADCS/GNC subsystems.
• Must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled information under applicable ITAR/EAR requirements.

• Experience with control stability analysis of flexible bodies.
• Experience with ADCS for precision-pointing platforms.
