Forward Deployed Engineer (Geospatial Navigation)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; hybrid work across corporate offices, customer sites, and outdoor field-testing environments

What you will do

• Consult with prospects and clients to assess technical, operational, and geospatial navigation requirements.
• Architect customized hardware and software solutions using GNSS and INS technologies.
• Deliver technical presentations, whiteboard sessions, and live product demonstrations for technical and executive audiences.
• Lead the scoping, implementation, and execution of Proof of Concept projects in real-world environments.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success to support sales cycles and inform product roadmaps.
• Travel to customer sites, field-test locations, and trade shows while following HSE and export-control requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, or technical sales in a high-tech hardware/software environment.
• Working knowledge of GNSS, INS, cloud computing, networking, and sensor integration.
• Strong communication, presentation, quantitative, and sensor-data analysis skills, including position, velocity, acceleration, and orientation metrics.
• Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR and EAR requirements and able to work with controlled defense technologies and technical data.
• Must be willing and able to travel nationally and occasionally internationally.

Nice to have

• Experience in surveying, subsea or maritime, defense, robotics, or autonomous-vehicle applications.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Salesforce, APIs, SDKs, or command-line interfaces.
• Knowledge of GNSS, INS, sensor fusion, and position-velocity-orientation algorithms.
