Therapy Area Head (Cardiometabolic)

Location: Hybrid work with flexibility from home and regular office attendance in Cambridge or Uxbridge, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Lead all medical activities for the cardiometabolic therapeutic area across the UK and Ireland.
• Develop and execute medical strategies covering annual planning, launch preparation, lifecycle management, and portfolio priorities.
• Set the scientific engagement strategy and build relationships with healthcare professionals, experts, healthcare systems, and other stakeholders.
• Use medical insights to inform evidence generation, product development, and brand or franchise strategies.
• Lead and develop medical advisors, scientific communications colleagues, or MSLs within the therapy area.
• Represent the UK at global therapeutic-area meetings and serve as a senior member of the business-unit leadership team.

Requirements

• Medical degree with full GMC registration.
• Extensive and progressive Medical Affairs experience with a strong record of strategic medical leadership.
• Proven experience building and developing high-performing teams across multiple products and indications.
• Experience leading medical strategy throughout the product lifecycle, including launch preparation and execution.
• Strong understanding of evidence generation, brand strategy, reimbursement and access, and the UK healthcare landscape.
• Proven experience as a final ABPI Medical Signatory.

• Experience in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or obesity within the NHS environment.
