Clinical Specialist (Disability Claims)

Location: Bethlehem; mobile position with preference for candidates within commuting proximity to a Guardian office and the ability to travel to Guardian offices as required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $59,110.00–$88,660.00 base pay, with possible additional incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Review disability claim files and obtain certification dates, treatment plans, functional limitations, restrictions, and other medical documentation.
• Use clinical knowledge to identify missing or relevant information needed for disability claim adjudication.
• Document clear and concise medical and claim information.
• Collaborate with Claims Case Managers, claimants, treating providers, vendors, and other professional disciplines.
• Coordinate vendor services, scheduling, follow-up, reports, and vendor utilization.
• Adapt to changing business needs while supporting customer and departmental requirements.

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse from an accredited nursing school, with a valid license in good standing.
• At least two years of clinical experience or equivalent medical office experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, prioritization, time management, and independent judgment.
• Current medical knowledge maintained through continuing education.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and OneNote.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting disability claims, medical case management, or a related insurance function.
• Experience obtaining and reviewing medical documentation from treating providers.
