Radiation Effects Engineer (Aerospace)

Radiation Effects Engineer (Aerospace): Responsible for characterizing radiation environments for spacecraft missions and performing testing analysis. Focus on designing fault-tolerant electrical systems, simulating radiation environments, and coordinating radiation testing campaigns to upscreen components.

Salary: $120,000 - $165,000 USD

What you will do

• Design fault tolerant electrical systems for operating in a radiation environment.
• Simulate and model the GTO and GEO radiation environments.
• Coordinate and run radiation testing campaigns to upscreen components.
• Work with the structures team to determine the proper shielding levels across the spacecraft.
• Integrate these systems into the spacecraft by working closely with the rest of the team.
• Support other electrical design, bringup, and test activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent technical field.
• A passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development.
• Experience with the Geostationary radiation environment (TID, SEE, DDD).
• Experience with designing for and testing for radiation effects.
• Experience in testing analog and digital circuits.
• US Citizenship or Green Card

Nice to have

• Electromechanical design experience
• Experience running tests at radiation labs
• Experience with designing dosimeter circuits
• ECAD + MCAD Experience (Altium, Solidworks)
