Company

hirify.global develops automotive technologies focused on zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion.

What you will do

  • Define controls architecture and operating modes for voltage and current regulation, power management, protection, derating, fault recovery, and safe-state behavior.
  • Translate vehicle and electrical-system requirements into controls, embedded software, calibration, diagnostic, interface, and verification requirements.
  • Lead integration across converter hardware, embedded software, battery systems, vehicle energy management, electrical architecture, and validation.
  • Plan and review simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, laboratory, and vehicle testing using objective performance data.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for controls, communication, diagnostic, performance, and vehicle-integration issues.
  • Provide technical direction to suppliers, coordinate cross-functional decisions, communicate risks, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, controls engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in power electronics, embedded controls, automotive electrical systems, or electrified-vehicle technologies.
  • Hands-on experience developing or integrating production embedded controls for DC/DC converters, on-board chargers, or related power-conversion systems.
  • Strong knowledge of feedback control, mode management, transient response, stability, protection, derating, diagnostics, and fault handling.
  • Experience with automotive diagnostics, model-based development, automatic code generation, plant modeling, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or real-time controls simulation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without GM immigration sponsorship; GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or advanced technical training in electrical engineering, controls, power electronics, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with bidirectional on-board chargers, isolated DC/DC converters, high-voltage systems, or low-voltage vehicle networks.
  • Knowledge of functional safety, cybersecurity, EMC, electrical transients, and vehicle energy-management strategies.
  • Experience with supplier technical reviews, production launch, design-for-manufacturing, and design-for-service.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hybrid work arrangement with regular collaboration at the assigned location.
  • Relocation benefits may be available for eligible candidates.
  • Employee benefits and total rewards support well-being at work and at home.
  • Inclusive workplace focused on belonging and equal employment opportunity.
