General Manager - Hauling MC (Environmental Services)

Location: Fort Mill, South Carolina, USA; travel by air, car, or other transportation may be required up to 30% of the time.

What you will do

• Lead a business unit with full profit-and-loss responsibility for all aspects of operations.
• Manage division-level leaders across operations, fleet management, sales, finance, human resources, safety, environmental compliance, and environmental engineering.
• Execute local market strategies and tactical initiatives to improve safety, customer experience, efficiency, and profitability.
• Oversee collection and post-collection operations, including transfer stations, landfills, recycling centers, and related facilities.
• Represent the business unit with customers, vendors, municipalities, government bodies, community groups, and environmental organizations.
• Lead safety, regulatory compliance, performance management, talent development, and change management initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• At least 3 years of progressive leadership and management experience.
• At least 3 years of profit-and-loss experience.
• Business acumen, strategic thinking, analytical decision-making, and the ability to execute strategy.
• Experience leading large-scale change initiatives, multi-site operations, multiple business lines, and large teams of functional experts.
• Previous experience in environmental services and labor relations; previous employment with a Fortune 500 company is required.
