TL;DR

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Base pay: CAD 120,000–195,000 per year across Canada

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain Linux kernel features and tests for EOS using C, C++, and Python.
  • Track upstream Linux kernel developments, integrate new kernel versions, and contribute changes to the mainline kernel.
  • Qualify CPUs, NICs, and other kernel-dependent hardware components with hardware engineers and vendors.
  • Build automated tests and test infrastructure to validate kernel features and hardware integrations.
  • Analyze and resolve issues found by customers, Customer Support Engineers, and System Test Engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership across projects and tools while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • BS with 8 years of experience, MS with 6 years, Ph.D. with 3 years, or equivalent work experience in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering.
  • Expert-level C programming experience; C++ and Python knowledge is desirable.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting, debugging, and developing Linux kernel features.
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel architecture, design, implementation, and the upstream patching process.
  • Understanding of IP networking, modern software engineering practices, and strong software design and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with x86 and ARM CPU architectures and the ability to work independently and in small teams.
