Mechanical Design Engineering Placement Student (CAD)

What you will do

• Design mechanical components and assemblies using CAD and prepare 2D drawings.
• Organize and build prototype components.
• Conduct mechanical component testing and write technical reports.
• Process design changes through the PLM system.
• Provide general engineering support to the Product Design and Analysis teams.

Requirements

• Partially completed Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience with 3D CAD packages and 2D drawing preparation.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Initiative, teamwork, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driving licence and access to a car required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SolidWorks or CATIA modelling packages.
• Experience with plastics or rubber moulding.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on technical interests or hobbies.
