Software Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Shanghai, China; global travel required for customer support and training.

What you will do

• Research, develop, prototype, and evaluate advanced algorithms for defect inspection and critical dimension metrology.
• Work with image processing, signal processing, geometry pattern handling, high-performance computing, machine learning, and data analysis.
• Design, implement, integrate, debug, and unit-test C++ software on Linux.
• Design software architecture and perform big data analysis and data mining.
• Collaborate with global research, engineering, and process teams to identify problems, validate solutions, and support product development.
• Travel globally, including to the US, Korea, and Taiwan, for short-term customer support and training.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with no related experience, or bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related work experience, in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
• Background in at least one of image processing, signal processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, computational geometry, data analysis, high-performance computing, or machine learning.
• Experience with C, C++, and Python coding, algorithm design, software development, and debugging.
• Ability to independently identify, analyze, and solve technical problems.
• Fluent English and strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to travel globally for customer support and training.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of optics and semiconductor processes.
• Strong foundations in mathematics and logic.
