What you will do
- Underwrite new and existing SME Commercial Package and Commercial Combined business against financial targets and underwriting standards.
- Manage key broker and scheme accounts, conduct portfolio reviews, and drive profitable growth or remediate underperforming portfolios.
- Handle underwriting referrals from brokers, schemes, MGAs, and staff with lower underwriting authority.
- Build relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders while providing high-quality underwriting service.
- Become a subject matter expert on the Acturis trading platform and contribute to product development, growth, and change initiatives.
- Maintain regulatory, risk management, decision-making, and underwriting authority requirements.
Requirements
- Strong commercial underwriting background at company, MGA, or underwriting agency level.
- Experience with SME Package and Commercial Combined insurance is preferred.
- Experience handling commercial underwriting referrals and SME or Property and Casualty business is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyse management information and portfolio performance data and make recommendations.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new underwriting and e-trade platforms.
