Software Engineer, Intern - Labs (Summer 2027)

Location: In-person at a hirify.global Labs office in San Francisco or Sunnyvale, California, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.; F-1 students are eligible with CPT. J-1 visas are not supported.

Salary: $107,400–$158,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and ship software with support from mentors and team members.
• Work across perception, autonomy platform, and hirify.global Air Cloud teams.
• Build software frameworks, cloud data-processing pipelines, and systems that support reliable autonomous robots.
• Contribute to perception systems using vision foundation models, VLMs, lidar, radar, machine learning, and computer vision.
• Develop cloud software supporting order eligibility, merchant handoff, flight management, and autonomous delivery.
• Collaborate on customer problems and present internship learnings in a final presentation.

Requirements

• In-person availability for a 12-week summer internship starting in May or June 2027.
• U.S. work authorization required; F-1 students must use CPT, and J-1 visas are not supported.
• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent field, graduating between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
• No more than two years of full-time work experience.
• Experience with databases, algorithms, data structures, version control, unit testing, and at least one object-oriented language such as Python, Java, or Kotlin.

Nice to have

• Previous software engineering internship or equivalent experience.
• Experience with AI-powered development tools, system efficiency, scalability, and stability.
• Experience with large-scale web applications, monitoring, live deployments, continuous integration, or real-time systems.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture, APIs, system design, or technical research projects.
