Senior Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Somerset, New Jersey, United States; onsite role with domestic and international travel up to 25%, occasionally approaching 50%

Salary: $115,000–$145,000 annually, plus bonus opportunity

What you will do

• Develop supplier quality strategies, qualification programs, performance scorecards, and improvement plans for critical suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments while managing corrective actions, quality risks, delivery risks, capacity risks, and business continuity risks.
• Develop and validate Product Quality Plans, PFMEAs, Control Plans, MSA studies, SPC methodologies, and risk-based inspection strategies.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using 8D, DMAIC, A3, 5-Why, and other structured problem-solving methods.
• Support supplier quality activities for new product introduction, industrialization, production transfers, and manufacturing ramp-up.
• Analyze supplier quality KPIs and present performance, risk assessments, and improvement initiatives to cross-functional and leadership teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, supplier development, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in supplier quality management, supplier development, supplier auditing, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, process capability, and process validation.
• Experience with precision machining, fabrication, electromechanical assembly, contract manufacturing, engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Experience with NPI, supplier qualification, production transfers, manufacturing ramp-up, change control, ERP, PLM, QMS, and supplier management systems.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders without direct authority, mentor others, and communicate with technical, operational, supplier, and executive audiences.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, or a related field.
• Semiconductor capital equipment industry experience.
• ASQ, CQA, CQE, CSQP, CMQ/OE, Lead Auditor, or Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification.
