TL;DR
Senior Component Development Engineer (Supplier Quality) (Medical Devices/Electronics): Selecting, qualifying, and releasing electronic components while developing specifications and ensuring supplier quality for implantable medical products. Focus on leading failure analysis, resolving supplier and manufacturing quality issues, qualifying alternate components, and driving compliance across the new product development lifecycle.

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; onsite five days per week. Candidates must already possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization; sponsorship is not available for this Senior-level role.

Salary: $99,200–$148,800 annually, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

  • Select, characterize, qualify, and release electronic components according to company standards.
  • Create and release component specifications, datasheets, and drawings for new product introductions.
  • Drive supplier quality, capability, reliability, and compliance throughout the new product development lifecycle.
  • Lead failure analysis, root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and resolution of component-related technical and quality issues.
  • Collaborate with design, process, test, reliability, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams to deliver project milestones.
  • Qualify suppliers, evaluate supplier performance, define receiving inspection requirements, and assess alternate or second-source components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a technical field with 4+ years of engineering or quality experience; alternatively, an advanced degree with 2+ years of experience or a PhD with no required experience.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes, electronics laboratories, chemical laboratories, or clean-room facilities.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire and throughout employment.
  • For degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering processes such as DFMEA, PPAP, and TMV.
  • CQE, lead auditor, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, or PMP certification.
  • Supplier negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
