Supplier Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Local office in Singapore or Malaysia, co-located with strategic sourcing and procurement teams and close to suppliers.

What you will do

• Act as the technical interface between engineering teams and suppliers for repair parts, components, modules, new parts, and transfers.
• Lead supplier quality engineering and technical supplier management activities, including early supplier involvement, design reviews, and design-for-manufacturing, assembly, testing, and cost assessments.
• Manage technical deliverables and documentation, including statements of work, product document acceptance, prototype evaluation reports, test coverage documents, first article inspections, MFLOW, PFMEA, and customer acceptance tests.
• Manage material quality notifications and deviation notices, resolving part quality issues with structured problem-solving techniques.
• Drive supplier development, operational excellence, continuous improvement plans, supplier audits, and monitoring of process KPIs using SPC.
• Participate in Supplier Account Teams, technology roadmaps, supplier capability assessments, supplier profile audits, and new supplier selection decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Systems and Control, or Industrial Engineering.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes in an electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics field.
• Experience with quality systems and methods, such as Six Sigma, and engineering work related to production processes is encouraged.
• Ability to initiate, influence, make decisions, and work with a pragmatic, results-driven approach.
• Strong networking and communication skills, with an understanding of change management, BoM structures, and engineering changes.
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology before beginning work.
