Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks)

Location: Remote, based in Metro Manila, Philippines; working hours and holidays follow Australia.

What you will do

• Develop complete, practical, and manufacturable 3D models and equipment layouts from engineering requirements, site data, sketches, and concepts.
• Design complex assemblies, heavy weldments, structural frames, sheet metal components, and pipework or equipment integrations.
• Produce GA drawings, bills of materials, cut lists, geometric tolerances, fabrication packages, and revision-controlled manufacturing documentation.
• Account for high loads, vibration, fatigue, impact, corrosion, dust, water exposure, lifting, handling, and maintainability in harsh industrial environments.
• Create support frames, equipment mountings, platforms, skids, sumps, brackets, safety guards, and structural modifications for bulk materials handling and mineral processing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering stakeholders to refine concepts and meet manufacturing, installation, efficiency, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of professional mechanical design experience in heavy industry, such as mining, mineral processing, bulk materials handling, power generation, oil and gas, or heavy manufacturing.
• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, including parametric modeling, configuration design tables, weldment structures, sheet metal design, design libraries, and large-assembly management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Practical understanding of heavy-equipment and steel-structure fabrication, welding, machining, bolting, and field installation.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required for collaboration with international engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with SolidWorks Simulation for finite element analysis of fabricated steel structures, frames, brackets, and equipment supports.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards or experience working with Australian engineering firms.
• Experience designing equipment for conveyors, pumps, pressure vessels, mobile machinery, or processing plants.
