Project Manager - Environmental Laboratory Program (Corvallis, OR)

Location: Corvallis, Oregon, United States. Onsite work in a federal government laboratory. US citizenship is required, and candidates must pass an EPA background check to access US federal property.

Salary: $107,959–$183,531 per year.

What you will do

• Manage a team of 15 chemists and technicians supporting environmental laboratory analysis, quality assurance, data validation, and field sampling.
• Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with technical, quality assurance, and health and safety requirements.
• Schedule, track, and report assignments, deliverables, and work products.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cost responsibility, and financial performance.
• Supervise technical staff, including selection and performance evaluation.
• Coordinate daily client and subcontractor interactions and deliver technical presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or another physical science, or an allowable substitution of 20 years of project management experience on federal environmental contracts.
• At least 10 years of experience with EPA analytical programs and EPA analytical methods.
• At least 5 years managing an environmental analysis group or laboratory with 10 or more direct reports.
• Experience with data acquisition, instrument reporting, and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Experience managing laboratory operations, client communication, budgets, costs, and forecasting.
• US citizenship and successful completion of an EPA background check are required.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing quality assurance programs in NELAC/TNI- or ISO 17025-accredited environmental laboratories.
• Experience developing analytical methods for environmental samples.
• Experience managing environmental laboratory waste and health and safety programs.
• Experience with data analytics, database development, and LIMS, QMS, or EMS solutions.
