Manager of Database Reliability Engineering (Cloud Databases)

Location: Remote within the United States; Atlanta, Georgia preferred

Salary: $200,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Own cloud database infrastructure, capacity planning, vendor management, committed-use strategy, and database-related spending.
• Lead data lifecycle strategy, including aging, archiving, retention, and supporting data services.
• Build database observability across logging, metrics, alerting, and actionable operational signals.
• Lead high-availability operations for major live events, including on-call design, war-room readiness, staffing, and vendor escalation.
• Own database security, compliance, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Build and develop the DBRE team, establish technical leadership, delegate ownership, and prioritize a multi-quarter infrastructure roadmap.

Requirements

• 5+ years managing database, DevOps, or SRE teams, preferably in consumer products with real-time, high-concurrency, or seasonal traffic.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, with GCP strongly preferred; AWS or similar experience is also relevant.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including AlloyDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB.
• Experience with infrastructure as code such as Crossplane, Cuelang, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Experience with identity and access management, observability, incident management, cloud cost management, vendor relationships, security, and compliance.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in a technology startup environment.
• Relevant DevOps, cloud, or SRE certifications.
