Vice President, Software Engineering (MedTech)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end software engineering delivery across clinical, patient-facing, platform, and device-integrated systems in a regulated Software as a Medical Device environment.
• Establish engineering operating models, governance, development practices, metrics, and risk-management processes for predictable delivery.
• Ensure software lifecycle activities meet FDA, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, cybersecurity, and internal Quality Management System requirements.
• Advance CI/CD frameworks, automation, engineering platforms, and responsible AI-assisted development practices.
• Build and develop an organization of engineering directors, managers, and senior technical leaders.
• Partner with Product, Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, Security, Machine Learning, IT, and Systems Engineering leaders on product delivery, platform strategy, and acquisition integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering leadership experience, including leadership of large-scale organizations and senior technology leaders.
• Experience delivering Software as a Medical Device solutions in highly regulated medical device environments.
• Track record taking regulated software products from concept through verification, validation, regulatory approval, commercialization, and post-market support.
• Deep expertise in FDA software regulations, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and medical device quality systems.
• Experience leading complex, matrixed organizations through growth, transformation, organizational change, and technology modernization.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, medical devices, digital health, or other regulated technology organizations.
• Experience scaling organizations supporting connected products, cloud platforms, data ecosystems, and customer-facing applications.
• Experience with technical diligence, merger and acquisition integration, CI/CD modernization, automation, and AI-assisted software development governance.
