Senior Manager, Capital Markets Controllership, Accounting (Financial Instruments)

Location: Toronto, ON; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site at Toronto-81 Bay

What you will do

• Oversee complete and accurate financial and management accounting information for Capital Markets trading portfolios.
• Manage the setup, maintenance, and reporting of multiple trading portfolios.
• Provide oversight and advisory support for new and ongoing financial reporting processes.
• Enhance, automate, and standardize accounting and reporting processes.
• Build collaborative relationships with business partners and stakeholders.
• Guide, train, and develop analysts while supporting employee engagement and departmental goals.

Requirements

• Current CPA accreditation in good standing or CFA designation.
• Experience accounting for complex or sensitive information and financial instruments.
• Knowledge of interest rate products, fixed income, money market products, cross-currency derivatives, commodities, options, and other vanilla and non-standard derivatives.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements for financial instruments.
• Critical and analytical thinking, sound judgment, communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to provide a valid work or study permit where applicable.

Nice to have

• Public accounting firm experience.
• Knowledge of equity derivatives.
• Experience with automation tools such as Alteryx or Tableau.
