Linux Embedded Software Engineer (Linux)

Location: Poland; the recruitment process includes on-site interviews in Kraków.

Estimated hourly pay range: 95 zł–345 zł PLN.

What you will do

• Develop features for Linux embedded platforms used in access control, intercoms, and alarm systems.
• Bring up and integrate build systems, kernels, drivers, and userspace components on real hardware.
• Develop userspace applications and debug issues across the full embedded stack.
• Define architecture, design features, and build prototypes and proofs of concept.
• Take projects from inception through deployment, customer support, and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with hardware vendors, ME/EE specialists, server and UI engineers, industrial designers, and operations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with embedded Linux.
• Strong hands-on C skills and experience working with production codebases.
• Solid Linux fundamentals, including processes, IPC, filesystems, boot flow, on-target debugging, and networking.
• Experience with multilayered build systems such as Yocto or Buildroot.
• Working knowledge of Bash, Git, and standard command-line tools.
• Communicative Polish and English skills in writing and speaking are required.

Nice to have

• In-depth practical knowledge of Yocto and experience with Go.
• Ability to read schematics and debug hardware issues.
• Experience with U-Boot, secure boot, Linux kernel modules, or RTOS platforms such as Zephyr, FreeRTOS, or Micrium OS.
• Programming experience in Python, C++, or Rust.
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and soldering stations.
