Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer (IPU)

Location: Gdansk, Poland. Hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

Annual salary: 157,970–284,340 PLN, plus additional compensation components and benefits.

Intel's Networking Solutions Group develops programmable Infrastructure Processing Unit solutions for cloud service providers and emerging networking, virtualization, storage, security, and load-balancing use cases.

What you will do

• Define and develop IPU solutions for cloud service provider requirements and production deployments.
• Design and execute system-level use-case and workload testing across platforms and operating system versions.
• Debug and verify IPU software packages and collaborate with engineering teams and customers to resolve issues.
• Create release notes, application notes, user guides, and white papers for customer adoption.
• Evaluate requirements, prioritize development work, communicate solutions, and identify customer gaps affecting engineering direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of industry experience or master's degree with 2+ years of industry experience in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience with object-oriented programming and Python, supported by strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, RPM, makefiles, shell scripting, Docker, and Jenkins.
• Working knowledge of a major Linux distribution, including networking stacks and drivers.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Nice to have

• System-level server or network debugging across hardware, software, and firmware.
• Knowledge of Ethernet products and enterprise or datacenter networking ecosystems.
• Experience with P4, DPDK, datacenter storage, packet processing, or RDMA technologies.
• System or network administration experience with large-scale datacenter workloads.
