EB Benefit Analyst III (Employee Benefits)

Location: Hybrid position; must reside in USI's MidSouth region in Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina and be able to commute to a regional corporate office for staff, team, and carrier meetings.

What you will do

• Analyze financial, claims, utilization, renewal, funding, benchmarking, and contribution data for fully insured and self-funded clients with approximately 100–1,000 covered lives.
• Prepare renewal rate projections, funding models, claims experience reports, executive summaries, and client and carrier correspondence.
• Develop alternative benefit strategies, plan models, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Review insurance contracts, financial arrangements, carrier renewal rating illustrations, and plan usage trends.
• Request and evaluate carrier quotes, negotiate rates and benefit features, and prepare renewal and new-business plan options.
• Maintain carrier relationships, participate in peer reviews, and support analyst onboarding and industry research.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in employee benefits or a related field.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Must hold or be willing to obtain a state Life and Disability insurance license.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and negotiation skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to learn internal analytics systems and carrier reporting tools.
• Must reside in Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina and commute to a regional office when required.
