TL;DR
Senior Manager, Digital & Mixed-Signal Hardware (Aerospace): Leading the development and production of high-performance digital and mixed-signal electronics for software-defined radios, space-computing platforms, and phased-array control systems with an accent on high-speed interfaces, signal integrity, and scalable manufacturing. Focus on guiding architecture and design reviews, solving complex FPGA and processor debug challenges, and building rigorous hardware processes across multidisciplinary teams.

Location: Austin, Texas; on-site. The initial team is distributed primarily across Austin and Westminster, with a smaller presence in El Segundo. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Company

hirify.global develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.

What you will do

  • Lead the technical quality and on-time delivery of board-level digital and mixed-signal electronics from architecture and design through production.
  • Establish and scale development processes, including high-speed interface guidelines, signal integrity simulation workflows, and schematic and layout standards for dense PCBs.
  • Conduct architecture and design reviews, provide technical mentorship, and coordinate subject matter expertise across digital, RF, power, firmware, and mechanical disciplines.
  • Lead complex debugging involving high-speed interfaces, large FPGAs, and processor implementations.
  • Drive DFM and DFT practices, manufacturing handoff, design reuse, modular architectures, and platform commonality.
  • Partner with product, program, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and operations teams to manage risks, resources, budgets, and delivery commitments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 7 years of direct digital or mixed-signal hardware engineering experience, preferably in aerospace.
  • Expertise in high-speed digital and mixed-signal board design, signal integrity, and timing.
  • Experience with DFM, DFT, development-to-production transitions, technical reviews, and engineering mentorship.
  • Proficiency with high-speed simulation and analysis tools such as Ansys SiWave or ADS SiPro, and schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium.
  • Strong technical and non-technical communication skills; familiarity with FPGA toolchains such as Xilinx Vivado is preferred.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on, autonomous, and cross-functional engineering environment.
  • Opportunity to build and develop an initial team of approximately 8–12 engineers.
  • Responsibility for staffing, performance management, career development, succession planning, lab and capital equipment, and design and simulation software budgets.
  • Work on aerospace and defense production systems requiring quality, reliability, and scalability.
