Senior Staff Engineer, Payment (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and build high-scale, 24/7 APIs and distributed payment services across multiple cloud providers using Java and Spring Boot.
• Own systems end to end, from design documentation through production operation and continuous improvement.
• Integrate and scale payment channels and methods across global markets.
• Protect user assets by implementing consistency, idempotency, reconciliation, failure recovery, and operational observability.
• Lead design and code reviews, resolve complex distributed-systems problems, and collaborate with product, design, and partner teams.
• Mentor engineers and help establish technical standards for a growing team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend software development experience building and operating high-availability, large-scale applications.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and software design patterns.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot, distributed systems, payment services, and production ownership.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, autonomy, and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Genuine interest in crypto or fintech and financial infrastructure.
