Frontend Web Developer

Location: Nationwide remote within the United States; the role is based in Reston, Virginia, and all work must be performed within the United States.

Salary: $89,649–$152,404 per year.

What you will do

• Develop responsive web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and a modern component-based framework.
• Translate UX designs, prototypes, and acceptance criteria into reusable, accessible production components.
• Build complex forms, validation, data tables, workflow interactions, notifications, and reporting interfaces.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, authentication services, analytics, and .NET backend capabilities.
• Write unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests while improving performance, browser compatibility, usability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with designers, accessibility specialists, backend engineers, QA, security, product teams, and federal stakeholders through Agile delivery activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years developing and supporting resilient web applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript.
• 2+ years integrating REST APIs and JSON, with working knowledge of HTTP and HTTPS/TLS.
• 2+ years using React, Angular, Vue, or a comparable framework to build responsive layouts, reusable components, and complex forms.
• Experience with accessible development, semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, focus management, Section 508 or WCAG, automated frontend testing, package managers, build tools, Git, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Authorization to work in the United States, ability to perform all work within the United States, and ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust determination are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with the U.S. Web Design System or another mature design system.
• Experience modernizing legacy .NET, ASP.NET MVC, or Razor-based interfaces.
• Experience building data-intensive interfaces, dashboards, reporting tools, and complex data-entry workflows.
• Experience with federated identity, single sign-on, multifactor authentication, role-based access, performance monitoring, and deployment pipelines.
• Experience supporting federal or public health applications and handling sensitive data.
