Compliance Investigator (Healthcare)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days remote

Base pay: $63,300–$114,300 annually, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Conduct internal investigations into misconduct concerns and potential violations of the Code of Conduct and company policies.
• Interview individuals, research inquiries, document findings, and prepare detailed investigation reports.
• Recommend corrective and disciplinary actions, including termination, to senior management.
• Investigate moderate-risk areas identified in annual risk assessments and monitor corrective action plans across HCSC and subsidiary operations.
• Provide guidance on conflicts of interest and interpret company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Human Resources with at least three years of experience researching and investigating inquiries, or seven years of relevant experience without the degree.
• Experience conducting internal investigations and interviewing individuals.
• Understanding of HR policies and procedures and federal and state employment laws.
• Strong verbal and written communication, listening, documentation, organizational, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• PC experience with Word, Excel, and database applications.
• Ability to work in the Chicago office at least three days per week.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of corporate policies, organizational structure, and corporate integrity and compliance programs.
• Certified Fraud Examiner or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional designation.
• Juris Doctorate, paralegal background, or other legal experience.
• Familiarity with governmental agencies such as the EEOC and Department of Human Rights.
