Staff Data Scientist (AI) (Retail and Logistics): Developing and deploying advanced machine learning, prescriptive AI/ML, foundation models, and predictive systems with an accent on experimentation, optimization, and responsible AI. Focus on evaluating LLMs and agentic systems, building RAG pipelines with knowledge graphs and vector search, and monitoring production models for drift and degradation.
Location: Remote; associated with Corporate Offices (0900)

What you will do
- Lead end-to-end data science projects from problem formulation through model deployment.
- Develop prescriptive AI/ML solutions, including foundation models and predictive systems, by translating business constraints into mathematical objectives.
- Design experiments, improve key business metrics, and translate analytical outputs into measurable business value.
- Build evaluation harnesses for LLMs, SLMs, and multi-agent systems, measuring reasoning quality, tool-calling precision, grounding, hallucination, and response failures.
- Integrate knowledge graphs, semantic layers, RAG pipelines, and vector search or database systems with data and software engineering.
- Monitor production inference data for concept drift, data degradation, and model decay while mentoring junior data scientists.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience developing, evaluating, or applying modern AI/ML solutions, or 3+ years with a Master's degree.
- 6+ years of experience with AI evaluation, responsible AI, bias and risk mitigation, and production GenAI or agentic systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or an equivalent quantitative field.
- Expertise in machine learning, statistical and optimization methods, modern analytics tools, programming languages, and cloud platforms.
- Advanced experience with Python, R, Spark, SQL, and GCP.
- Ability to guide teams through unstructured technical problems and deliver business impact.
