Presales Network Solution Architect (Network Security)

Location: Fully remote; role associated with DC/VA/DE/MD

Base salary: $165,000–$195,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead client discovery sessions and translate business goals, technical requirements, and constraints into actionable network solutions.
• Design secure, scalable architectures across campus, data center, WAN, wireless, cloud connectivity, and network security domains.
• Develop cost models, licensing estimates, resource plans, solution narratives, proposals, and Statements of Work.
• Present architectures, technical pitches, and demonstrations to executive and technical stakeholders.
• Coordinate sales, delivery, engineering, specialty, vendor, and distribution teams during complex pursuits and handoffs.
• Mentor Solution Architects and contribute reusable reference designs, blueprints, and presales improvements.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in IT solution design, network architecture, or technical presales, including complex multi-workstream pursuits.
• Deep enterprise networking and network security expertise, including routing, switching, VLANs/VXLAN, QoS, multicast, and network automation.
• Design experience with Cisco, Juniper, HPE Aruba, and Fortinet platforms.
• Experience designing SD-WAN, SASE/SSE, Zero Trust, segmentation, hybrid cloud, and multi-cloud connectivity architectures.
• Strong client-facing communication, presentation, problem-solving, commercial modeling, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Expert-level CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, HPE Aruba, or Fortinet certification.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, network observability, regulatory frameworks, or verticals such as finance, healthcare, retail, education, and public sector.
• Previous experience with an MSP, VAR, or systems integrator.
• AWS, Azure, VMware, TOGAF, ITIL, or other relevant certifications.
