Senior Mechanical Engineer (Motorized Blower Development)

Pay range: $147,000–$184,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design motorized blower systems, components, and assemblies for new and existing products.
• Define mechanical specifications and create layouts, engineering drawings, tolerance analyses, and technical proposals.
• Build and evaluate prototypes and plan and execute engineering tests, verification, and validation activities.
• Analyze test data, document findings, and communicate recommendations through reports and technical proposals.
• Assess design risks using structured risk-management methods and FMEA, including impacts on downstream flow-generator performance.
• Lead project activities, provide technical direction, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, operations, procurement, suppliers, and customers.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Expertise in plastic-part design and design for plastic injection molding.
• Experience with Creo or Pro/E, PDM or Intralink, controlled documents, engineering changes, drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Experience with risk management, FMEA, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methods.
• Ability to apply statistical analysis techniques using Minitab or JMP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical findings to peers and management.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of manufacturing operations, product development lifecycles, motors, rotary components, acoustics, noise and vibration, testing equipment, and data analysis.
• Experience with FEA software such as ANSYS, high-volume manufacturing, or highly regulated industries, preferably medical devices.
