Mechanical Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Round Lake, Illinois, United States; minimum 3 days per week onsite

Salary: $76,000–$104,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and mechanisms for electromechanical medical devices.
• Translate customer and user needs into product requirements, specifications, and system architectures.
• Apply plastics, sheet metal, castings, DFM/DFA, drive mechanisms, and fluid-systems expertise.
• Perform tolerance stack-ups, structural, thermal, fatigue, and reliability analyses using CAD and simulation tools.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams throughout product development.
• Lead testing, troubleshooting, design improvements, product qualification, and transfer to manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 1–3 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD modeling, mechanical design analysis, manufacturing processes, and product development.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship and takeover of employment-visa sponsorship are not available.

Nice to have

• Medical-device or infusion-pump experience.
• SolidWorks experience and familiarity with FEA.
