TL;DR
Early Career Software Test Developer (Propulsion Thermal Management): Developing and executing automated system behavior tests for vehicle propulsion thermal-management functions across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle environments with an accent on requirements traceability, regression testing, and defect isolation. Focus on validating battery, power-electronics, cabin, diagnostics, and degraded-mode behavior while supporting CoSim readiness and root-cause analysis.

Location: Hybrid role based in Markham, Ontario, with attendance at the Markham Elevation Centre at least three times per week. Candidates must be able to work in Canada without sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: CAD 73,900–110,900 annually.

Company

What you will do

  • Translate propulsion thermal-management requirements and behavioral specifications into traceable system test cases, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated system behavior and functional tests across CoSim and SIL environments, with targeted validation on HIL benches and vehicles.
  • Validate battery and propulsion-system heating and cooling, cabin conditioning, thermal coordination, sensors, actuators, diagnostics, and degraded operating modes.
  • Check CoSim package readiness, including interfaces, configurations, virtual ECU behavior, plant-model connectivity, hardware I/O, and environment health.
  • Analyze regression results, isolate root causes, document defects, track resolution, and verify corrective actions through retesting.
  • Collaborate with system engineering, architecture, software quality, integration, calibration, and validation teams on test scope and milestone readiness.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Knowledge of automotive thermal-management systems, refrigeration cycles, HVAC, heat pumps, and associated controls is preferred.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, programming or scripting in C, C++, Python, or comparable languages is preferred.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication, simulation, virtual ECU, data-acquisition, dashboard, SQL, Databricks, and AI/ML technologies is preferred.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hybrid work arrangement with regular in-person collaboration at the Markham Elevation Centre.
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and supplemental pregnancy, parental, and adoption leave.
  • Healthcare, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.
