Manager, Engineering - RMJ (AI Accelerated)

Location: Toronto, Canada; based at the Toronto engineering hub.

Base salary: CAD $135,000–$160,000 annually, excluding bonuses, incentives, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead multiple development teams building and evolving the RunMyJobs SaaS business process automation platform.
• Partner with the Head of Engineering and cross-functional leaders to define technical strategy and align engineering priorities with business goals.
• Lead the design of large-scale distributed systems focused on resilience, low latency, and fault tolerance in the Java ecosystem.
• Improve Agile development, continuous delivery, DevOps, and cloud-native engineering processes.
• Oversee CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud deployment, and observability across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Manage team capacity, hiring, resource allocation, engineering KPIs, mentoring, and succession planning.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience, including coaching or leading software developers.
• Strong backend development experience with Java or similar languages, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience building and scaling enterprise SaaS products and leading cloud-native applications.
• Experience with Agile product delivery, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous cloud delivery.
• Proficiency using AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot or CodeWhisperer in production.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated code and prompts against architectural, security, performance, testing, and documentation requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in automation, ERP, or workflow orchestration domains.
• Experience with prompt engineering for code, tests, technical documentation, and refactoring.
