Senior Software Engineer, Platform Security

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, New York, or Denver, with remote candidates considered within the US. Core business hours are required, with occasional nights and weekends for on-call coverage.

Salary: $181,220–$217,464 annually, with potential equity and discretionary bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Define the long-term vision and execution plans for internal trust and identity infrastructure.
• Design and implement scalable secrets management, PKI, authentication, and access control services.
• Lead technically complex, ambiguous initiatives with organization-wide impact.
• Partner with Product, Security, Compliance, and Engineering teams to identify and mitigate business and customer risks.
• Establish technical standards, code quality practices, reliability improvements, and operational maturity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of individual-contributor technical experience.
• Experience with privileged access management, workload identity management, LDAP, secrets management, or trust systems.
• Strong systems engineering background in Linux, networking, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Go, Python, or Rust and infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Vault, Consul, or Chef.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, documentation ability, and cross-functional collaboration experience.
• Ability to work within the US for remote arrangements and during core business hours; occasional on-call nights and weekends are required.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing zero-trust architectures or identity-aware access proxies.
• Experience designing secrets lifecycle management workflows and large-scale PKI automation.
• Contributions to open-source identity or security tooling.
• Experience with SPIFFE/SPIRE or modern PAM tooling.
