Production Planning Associate (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Tracy, CA, United States; onsite production and shop-floor collaboration required

Salary: $80,000–$85,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and execute weekly and daily production schedules across multiple lines, balancing labor, machine capacity, materials, and fulfillment targets.
• Monitor order-to-ship cycles and adjust schedules in real time for equipment downtime, labor shortages, sanitation requirements, and urgent orders.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data, including bills of materials and inventory levels, and analyze yields, fulfillment delays, OEE, schedule attainment, and scrap rates.
• Lead daily production kick-off meetings and coordinate Engineering, Quality, Operations, Procurement, supervisors, and floor personnel.
• Improve throughput and reduce changeover time using Lean methodologies, including SMED, and support line-layout improvements for new products and packaging configurations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
• 2–5 years of experience in production planning or fulfillment within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with food and beverage manufacturing, SQF, BRC, FDA regulations, 3PL, or contract manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP software and a strong understanding of the physical flow of goods through a plant.
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable instructions and troubleshoot mechanical constraints affecting production schedules.

Nice to have

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Yellow Belt certification.
• Experience working in a high-pressure environment with rapidly changing schedules and supply chain disruptions.
