Materials Planner (Robotics)

Location: On-site in San Carlos, CA or Hayward, CA, United States

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own the time-phased material plan for assigned commodities and translate build schedules into supply requirements.
• Maintain accurate BOMs, lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, on-hand balances, and other MRP inputs.
• Prevent production line-down events by identifying shortages early and coordinating resolution.
• Manage inventory health, including turns and excess or obsolete exposure, as production volume ramps.
• Improve supplier on-time, in-full delivery through forecasts, purchase orders, and expedite or de-expedite actions.
• Coordinate engineering change cut-ins and provide weekly clear-to-build and shortage visibility to Manufacturing and leadership.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of materials planning, production planning, or supply planning experience in a manufacturing environment such as hardware, electronics, automotive, or aerospace.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience running MRP in an ERP system such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and planning models.
• Working knowledge of BOM structures, lead-time management, and inventory control fundamentals.
• Ability to work on-site in San Carlos or Hayward, California.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting an NPI-to-production ramp at a hardware startup or high-growth company.
• Experience planning electromechanical components such as motors, actuators, PCBAs, batteries, and machined or injection-molded parts.
• APICS or ASCM certification, such as CPIM or CSCP.
• Experience with global suppliers, including Asia-based supply chains and long-lead components.
• Familiarity with PLM systems, engineering change processes, SQL, Python, or BI tools.
