Corporate Counsel - Regulatory

Location: Hybrid position in West Hills, California; remote work may be considered with travel to West Hills several times per year.

Salary: $117,000–$195,000 national target base pay range. California and New York metro target base pay range: $130,000–$216,000.

What you will do

• Advise cross-functional business teams on regulatory, advertising, labeling, product safety, digital and social media, influencer marketing, promotions, and other consumer-facing initiatives.
• Support product development, claims, clinical studies, and scientific substantiation for product and marketing claims.
• Assess emerging regulatory requirements affecting food, dietary supplements, medical devices, and OTC products, and develop practical compliance strategies.
• Advise on competitor advertising challenges, regulatory inquiries, investigations, disputes, and litigation, including National Advertising Division proceedings.
• Coordinate fact-finding and discovery and manage outside counsel in partnership with the Senior Corporate Counsel.
• Develop legal guidance, policies, procedures, training, interpretive frameworks, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in regulatory, advertising, consumer protection, or compliance matters; FDA and FTC experience is preferred.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• Strong legal research, analytical, writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret complex federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance and translate them into practical business advice.
• Ability to assess legal and regulatory risk, prioritize competing demands, and independently manage matters.

Nice to have

• Experience with dietary supplements, food, beverage, cosmetics, or other regulated consumer products.
• FDA or FTC regulatory experience.
