Senior Data Scientist (AI/ML)

What you will do

• Lead AI/ML initiatives from scoping and design through implementation, deployment, and measurable outcomes.
• Build and deploy predictive models for churn risk, engagement propensity, student success, and personalized outreach.
• Design and implement next-best-action logic in partnership with Product and CX teams.
• Productionize and monitor models using Databricks, MLFlow, dbt, and Dagster, while partnering with data engineers on reliable pipelines and feature stores.
• Design A/B testing programs, establish feedback loops, and make ship, iterate, or stop decisions based on results.
• Coordinate cross-functional work across Product, Engineering, CX, university partners, vendors, and software providers while mentoring teammates.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience in applied machine learning or data science.
• Proven experience delivering measurable consumer or business impact through end-to-end AI/ML initiatives.
• Strong background in predictive analytics, recommendation systems, A/B testing, causal inference, and uplift modeling.
• Deep expertise in Python and SQL, with proficiency in scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Experience with Databricks, MLFlow, dbt, and Dagster, or the ability to quickly adopt a modern MLOps stack.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, statistics, econometrics, mathematics, engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience in higher education, edtech, consumer technology, personalization, or complex behavioral domains.
• PhD in a technical discipline.
• Experience building or operationalizing next-best-action or propensity-to-engage models at scale.
