Quantitative Cyber Risk Engineer (AI)

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Design quantitative risk signals that measure companies’ exposure to cyber attacks based on network architecture, asset configurations, and internet footprint.
• Translate cybersecurity concepts and complex network topologies into measurable risk metrics and assumptions.
• Analyze internet-facing protocols, cloud infrastructure, enterprise networks, and asset configurations.
• Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, ransomware, exploits, and data-breach techniques, mapping them to affected assets.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, analytics, and product teams to integrate risk signals into production models.

Requirements

• Expert-level knowledge of internet architecture, TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, HTTP/S, TLS, routing, ASN ecosystems, and enterprise networks.
• Strong mathematical, statistical, analytical, and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in network engineering, cyber threat research, risk modeling, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python or R, plus experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with big data frameworks, JSON or XML, flat files, APIs, and large asset or configuration datasets.

Nice to have

• Experience in cyber insurance, risk modeling, or data science.
• Security or networking certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or advanced Cisco certifications.
• Background in security research, threat research, penetration testing, offensive security, detection engineering, attack surface management, bug bounty, red teaming, or security data modeling.
