Data Manager II (Public Health)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia; primarily telework with onsite support at CDC facilities as required. Availability during standard business hours is required, with occasional travel for meetings, conferences, training, or project activities.

Chenega Enterprise Systems & Solutions supports the CDC with data management, reporting, governance, and information management services for public health programs.

What you will do

• Manage CDC data management systems and platforms, including the CDC One Data Platform, for reporting, data collection, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Monitor data pipelines, system performance, data flows, platform functionality, and reporting processes.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of system issues, access concerns, data anomalies, and operational challenges.
• Coordinate system enhancements, maintenance, testing, upgrades, issue tracking, and backend administration.
• Lead data validation, cleaning, quality assurance, integration, metadata management, and governance activities.
• Develop automated reporting workflows, user guides, training materials, SOPs, and technical documentation while supporting CDC staff and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in public health, health informatics, data management, data science, statistics, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in data management, reporting, data governance, program evaluation, health informatics, or a related area.
• Experience managing large datasets, databases, reporting systems, data integration, validation, and quality processes.
• Experience developing data management plans, governance procedures, metadata standards, and quality assurance processes.
• Proficiency with SQL, Power BI, R, Python, SAS, and related reporting or data management technologies.
• Strong knowledge of data lifecycle management, information governance, relational data structures, data quality, and stakeholder coordination.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting CDC, HHS, or other federal public health agencies.
• Experience with public health surveillance, healthcare datasets, electronic health records, claims data, HL7, FHIR, or OMOP.
• Experience with CDC One Data Platform reporting, enterprise reporting frameworks, data stewardship, or large-scale data initiatives.
• Project management experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
