Automation Engineer Coop (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Assess packaging-line automation and identify opportunities to improve equipment performance.
• Analyze Overall Equipment Effectiveness, downtime, performance losses, cycle time, quality, and reliability.
• Map manufacturing processes and identify non-value-added activities, waste, and productivity opportunities.
• Review human-machine interfaces and operator workflows to reduce manual interventions.
• Support implementation, documentation, and standardization of approved automation improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams on technical projects.

Requirements

• Currently studying Automation Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Availability for a 6–9 month full-time onsite placement in Castlebar, County Mayo.
• Interest in automation systems, manufacturing technology, production and packaging equipment, and digital manufacturing.
• Ability to analyze data, map processes, investigate root causes, and solve technical problems.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and presentations and collaborate across operational functions.
