Application Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland; on-site work in semiconductor fabrication environments and cleanrooms.

What you will do

• Deploy, install, configure, and support FabGuard monitoring systems across etch, CVD, PVD, lithography, and other tool groups.
• Provide on-site troubleshooting for FabGuard software, hardware, data acquisition, Windows systems, PCs, and cabling.
• Create recipes and data analyses for Fault Detection and Classification (FDC).
• Configure data acquisition parameters and support integrations using industrial protocols such as OPC-UA, SECS/GEM, and TCP/IP.
• Test software updates, investigate connectivity and data discrepancies, and provide technical feedback and process-improvement recommendations.
• Coordinate with customer process engineering and equipment teams, deliver training, document configurations, and report site status to hirify.global management.

Requirements

• Technical diploma or degree in electronics, automation, industrial systems, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and OEM equipment, including lithography, PVD, and CVD.
• Basic knowledge of vacuum pump and abatement system operation, plus experience testing and validating software in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work in cleanrooms and comply with cleanroom procedures.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in semiconductor fabrication environments.
• Familiarity with OPC-UA, SECS/GEM, or Modbus TCP.
• Additional language skills.
