Lead Manufacturing Engineer (Quantum Computing Hardware)

Base pay: $148,000–$199,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing engineering strategy, technical direction, priorities, standards, and best practices for current and next-generation systems.
• Define manufacturing readiness, capacity, capital equipment, production ramp plans, and future facility layouts, cleanroom workstreams, and material flow.
• Partner with design teams on architecture, manufacturability, assembly, testability, reliability, and cost through DFM/DFA and design reviews.
• Own process flows, work instructions, build travelers, inspection and test methods, tooling, training, and release criteria from concept through production.
• Work directly with technicians and operators to assemble, integrate, test, troubleshoot, and deliver complex UHV systems.
• Partner with quality and drive improvements in material cost, labor, yield, cycle time, and production performance; travel may be required up to 10%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years of experience in hardware manufacturing or product industrialization.
• Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or worker granted asylum or refugee status.
• Due to national security requirements, candidates must not be nationals of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen.
• Experience leading manufacturing strategy, readiness planning, production investments, facility launches, complex hardware builds, and cross-functional technical work.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, physics, or a related field.
• Experience with cleanrooms, production cells, capital equipment, capacity expansion, process documentation, inspection plans, test procedures, and operator training.
