Principal Cyber Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Salary: $99,000–$206,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance front-end and back-end components of web applications.
• Design and deploy advanced cybersecurity capabilities for a mission-critical network operations environment.
• Implement unit, integration, automated, and smoke testing while improving application speed, scalability, availability, and reliability.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, deploy applications to cloud platforms, and monitor production performance.
• Apply secure coding practices, including encryption, credential and secret management, error handling, and security logging.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams; document solutions and mentor team members.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within one year and DHS Suitability.
• 8+ years of directly relevant software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency with Python, Java, and Node.js, plus front-end and back-end frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, cloud computing, Agile development, Linux or Unix, Jenkins or CloudBees, databases, and large-scale software requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with SQL, Oracle, MySQL, JDBC, Pytest, Jupyter, Java Spring, JUnit, Hibernate, JavaScript, or React.
• DoDM 8140.03 DCWF Information Systems Security Developer, CSSLP, CISSP, or Scrum Master certification.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, teamwork, adaptability, and attention to detail.
