Senior Data Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Define, build, test, and deliver high-performance data pipelines in Azure and, when required, on-premises platforms.
• Support and maintain existing pipelines through monitoring, incident resolution, troubleshooting, bug fixing, and architectural improvements.
• Analyze, ingest, transform, and organize raw data for data lakes, data marts, and data warehouses.
• Participate in data validation and ensure performance, security, privacy, GDPR, and LGPD requirements are met.
• Collaborate with BI, Data Science, and Software Engineering teams to document and deliver consistent data solutions.
• Contribute to data standards, technical references, code reviews, and the integration of new data management technologies.

Requirements

• Solid experience with the Azure data ecosystem, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Spark, and ADLS.
• Experience designing, building, and testing ETL/ELT data pipelines with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Strong SQL Server knowledge, SQL expertise, dimensional modelling, and data mart and data warehouse development experience.
• Experience developing reports and dashboards with Reporting Services and Power BI.
• Practical application of software engineering principles, including advanced Git usage, pull requests, and CI/CD for data solutions.
• Ability to learn new cloud-native technologies and share knowledge with more junior team members.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Azure or AWS cloud certification.
• Experience with data catalog and lineage tools such as Azure Purview.
• Python or Scala scripting and data process automation experience.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow.
